Svoge is a small (24 000 people) and very picturesque town in east Stara Planina Mountain. Svoge Region occupies area of 866 m² and is located in about 40 km away from the capital Sofia.
Svoge and the region are famous for their ancient history and unique geographic and relief characteristics. The first known population of Svoge region is the Thracians. There are ancient fortresses and necropolises found in the region dating from ²V – ² century A.D.
The unique geographic features of this region are major prerequisite making it one of the best locations for ecological and hunting tourism in Bulgaria. With its various species of plants, plenty of rivers and high-ground streams, and vast mountain fields the place offers excellent conditions for thorough recreation during all seasons.
The proximity of Murgash Summit (1 687 m) provides perfect opportunities for one-day outings.
